Supporting Document: Assurance CSV Supporting Sample Calculations [Excel]

Created by Jessica Clifton, Modified on Wed, 22 Oct, 2025 at 11:32 AM by Jessica Clifton

This workbook details how the csv can be understood and the calculation formulas for remaking the calculations using the data in the assurance csv, along with a sample of raw evidence.

The csv data downloads from Thrust Calculator are hard coded, therefore this is a look-up tool to demonstrate how the calculations in Thrust Calculator are completed for each methodology.

We would strongly recommend that this look-up book is provided to Third Party Assurance Teams alongside any csv's that have been downloaded.

Recommended use for recalculating large samples of data:

  • Download assurance csv's from Thrust Calculator for each travel mode

  • Use this workbook to identify the correct formula to recreate a chosen methodology (i.e. ICAO plus / DEFRA). The methodology used in each line can be found in the 'Methodology' column. The formulas are in the bright yellow cells in this workbook.

  • Copy the formula from this workbook into your assurance csv and match the data points to the same headings as this workbook. Please note the column letters will change in each Instance due to additional groupings - it is important to ensure formulas are linked to the correct cells in your assurance csv

Recommended use for calculating a single segment:

  • For a single segment this workbook can be used directly

  • Locate the methodology you want to recalculate in the 'Methodology' column

  • Override the columns in light yellow with data from your segment, found in the segment breakdown or assurance csv

  • Override the totals in the white cells to allow for side by side comparison

  • Do not make changes to the formulas in bright yellow
